±ΖΑ¨±ΖΑ¨ joins the world in mourning the loss of AndrΓ© Previn, the legendary, celebrated and award-winning composer, conductor, pianist and music director and member of the ±ΖΑ¨±ΖΑ¨ International Council. He died today at his home in New York City at age 89.

Born in Germany in 1929, Previn was an icon in every musical category imaginable – composing, conducting and performing of classical, jazz and pop music all over the world.

He was the recipient of a Pulitzer Prize, four Academy Awards and 10 Grammy Awards.

Throughout a nearly 70-year career, Previn served as music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic and the London, Houston and Pittsburgh symphonies.

β€œNot only did AndrΓ© Previn compose numerous award-winning scores for Hollywood films, he was also a jazz artist who performed with the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and served as conductor for some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras,” said President and CEO Paul W. Hogle. β€œHis music and art knew no boundaries. I’m so proud that we can say he served as a member of ±ΖΑ¨±ΖΑ¨β€™s International Council. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and colleagues.”
