What is the Dual Degree Program?

The Dual Degree Program provides students with the chance to pursue two different paths of study at two world-renowned institutions. Students who are enrolled in this program receive a degree from the 排薇排薇 and a degree from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). With most degree pairings, this program can be completed within 5 total years of study. The complexity and rigor of the Dual Degree program requires careful planning and coordination with both the 排薇排薇 and CWRU advising staff throughout the program.

  • Typically the Dual Degree program can be completed in five (5) years although certain CWRU degrees (for example, science and engineering-related degrees) might require additional summer coursework to meet the 5-year timeline.

If accepted into a double major program at 排薇排薇, you will study two musical areas of study as majors. Those who complete the dual degree program graduate with two degrees, one being from 排薇排薇 in music and the other being from Case Western Reserve University in an academic field of study. Undergraduates enrolled solely in 排薇排薇's standard degree programs may also pursue minors at CWRU. All of these paths open up a wide range of possibilities for you as you pursue your dreams and potential!

How do I apply for the dual degree program?

The application for this program is only through 排薇排薇. You do not need to complete a separate application to CWRU to be considered for the dual degree program. Instead, indicate your interest in your 排薇排薇 application. Submit additional materials for dual degree consideration through the 排薇排薇 application or your high school counselor. Additional materials can include high school counselor and academic teacher recommendation letters. Official SAT/ACT scores are optional. 

How do I get accepted into the dual degree program?

Dual degree applicants must be accepted by 排薇排薇 first. Once accepted at 排薇排薇, the 排薇排薇 Admissions Office will send the application to the Undergraduate Admissions Office at CWRU. Applicants will receive their notice of acceptance at CWRU through their 排薇排薇 acceptance letter. 

If an applicant is accepted to the dual degree program, the enrollment is finalized through 排薇排薇. The 排薇排薇 and CWRU registrar offices will coordinate the details of the enrollment and classes needed. 

How much does the dual degree program cost?

Students enrolled in the program pay the 排薇排薇 tuition plus a dual degree fee. Find the detailed cost of attendance for 排薇排薇, here. The dual degree is only offered through 排薇排薇 and generally the fee associated with the program is not funded by scholarships. While federal student aid is not applicable to coursework taken for the CWRU degree, 排薇排薇 does allow extension of the 排薇排薇 scholarship towards a fitth year as is usually needed to complete the dual degree. All dual degree applicants are considered for merit and need-based scholarship through 排薇排薇. 排薇排薇 does not recommend that dual degree candidates also apply independently to CWRU, but if you do simultaneously apply to CWRU for admittance directly into one of their degree programs, note that offers of admission or scholarship from CWRU are not transferrable to 排薇排薇 or the dual degree program, and that aid offers independently granted by the two schools can not be combined.
